THE EVOLUTION OF DATING..

We were told some 25 years ago that by the 21st century we would all be leading a life of leisure. That with the advance of technology and automisation and the rising importance of computerisation, we would be working maybe 1-2 days a week. Well guys, whoever you are, go to the back of the class and write 100 times, I must study harder. Boy did those guys get it wrong.

We all work harder and longer hours now than ever and the age of retirement is rising it seems year by year.

Life for many people now is very intense, busy and full and a seemingly ever increasing proportion of our time is related either to our work, or work related matters. Our social lives (what social lives!!!) have, for many of us taken a back seat.

Well luckily, some of these seriously overworked and stressed people came up with a novel idea. They invented the internet. The World Wide Web. A form of free exchange of information. Knowledge without boundaries, without frontiers, open and free. Wow what a concept. What an audacious idea. Give these guys straight AAA, s. Top of the class, a $1,000,000. Well actually they ended up with a lot more than that and why not?

Suddenly, we, overworked, stressed out and increasingly socially deprived individuals could have it all. We could conduct our social lives from our own homes and better still fit it very comfortably within our timetables.

So map readers, soothsayers and fortune tellers 0/10. Geeks, lost souls and computer nerds 10/10!!!

So here we are, stressed,over worked,with little free time, but with that inborn and super powerful desire and need to find a mate, a partner, a compatible other half. How can we do it? How can we juggle this, within our so busy lives? You got it. We can, through the internet, we can from the comfort of our own homes and with whatever free time we have, to search our soul mate, our compatible other half. No embarrassing and hopeless chat up lines. No waiting and waiting to build up the courage to say something, to find she has left, disappeared.

The guy that made this possible should be the richest guy on earth. Ah, oh, he is! There is some crazy chaotic balance, that somehow, someway there is always a way, a continuation, and a balance.

So now we can seek-find our partner, not just from the house next door, the same block, city, or even country. No now we search our partner from across the whole wide world, incredible and only 20 years ago, this would have been unbelievable!

It seems to me an incredible leap in human evolution and development. An almost accidental or at best fortuitous new stage, a leap really in human evolution. An evolvement of a gene pool beyond the dreams of our forefathers. Beyond ideology, political barriers, across frontiers and racial barriers.
